Dan St. Andre
Chuck became pastor of FBC on May 3, 1998. He and his wife Susan have three children and one grandchild. Chuck was born in Lafayette, GA, and has lived in Hall county since 1991. He was ordained in 1978, is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, and has pastored churches in Louisiana, Tennessee, and Ohio.
Chuck has served as volunteer chaplain at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, moderator and executive committee chairman of the Chattahoochee Baptist Association, and on the board of directors of Gainesville Care Center and Baptist International Missions Agency.
Since 1988 he has led numerous volunteer mission teams to places such as Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Belarus, Siberia, Costa Rica, Republic of Georgia, Quebec, and Alaska.
Chuck is also an award-winning musical talent. He plays six different stringed instruments, is a Georgia State Champion on fiddle and mandolin, and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Grand Old Opry, New Orleans World's Fair, Savannah Music Festival, and has toured internationally in Japan and Ireland.
Dan came to FBC in September 2015. He and his wife Beth have three children and nine grandchildren. His major was in vocal studies at Louisiana College and church music at Southwestern Baptist Seminary.
He has served as music minister at churches in Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia. Dan is a multi-instrumentalist and plays piano, keyboard, bass, drums, and guitar. He is proficient in writing and arranging for choral, band, and orchestra, and coordinates music, sound, technology, and graphics for all worship services.
Susan leads the Children's Ministry at FBC. In addition to being a busy pastor's wife, mother, and grandmother, Susan teaches "One Way Lane" Kids' Church, Youth Sunday Shool, and is Director of Awana and Vacation Bible School.
She writes children's Bible lessons and VBS curriculum, sings in the church music program, helps coordinate the church's website, plays and teaches guitar and acoustic bass, and has traveled with Chuck on many overseas mission trips.
She recently retired after 21 years at McEver Arts Academy in Hall County. She has written and directed dramas and plays for church, and has performed musically with Chuck around the world. Susan has served in churches in just about every known capacity and position, including youth director, nursery director, music director, Sunday School teacher, bus captain, church soloist, tech support, etc.
Jan has been at FBC since February 2012. Before coming to First Baptist she successfully ran her own business, and now she serves as assistant to the Pastor, coordinating all ministry operations and administration at FBC.
She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, majoring in journalism. Jan is a member of First Presbyterian, Gainesville and sings in the chancel choir. She and her husband Jerry have three children and two grandchildren, and are enthusiastic Georgia Bulldog fans.
